Performance Analysis

Packing the 16-core, 32-thread Ryzen 9 5950X and top-of-the-line Nvidia GeForce 3080 Ti, the system was always going to show up well in the benchmarks. We see it dominate in nearly all of the benchmarks bar the HandBrake and PCMark storage tests where we can start to see the limits of these slightly ageing pieces of software pushed to the edge by modern top-end hardware. You obviously pay for this in not only your wallet but power consumption as well, but this is to be expected and all aspects of the system perform excellently with no unforced bottlenecks in sight.

Conclusion

While Cyberpower has done a solid job on most of the component selection, we're not as impressed with the fit and finish.

Heading inside the case is where we noticed a couple of issues. The first and possibly the easiest to fix is the lack of one of the motherboard EPS connectors being plugged in. This didn't cause any stability during benchmarking, but as a general rule of thumb, motherboard manufacturers recommend plugging both in, if available, which the supplied Corsair HX850 supports.

A large scratch on the upper part of the chassis was also noted, but this may well be a one-off issue. Lastly, highlighting attention to detail, we noticed some grime inside the block along with a fingerprint mark that's not super-obvious, but in a well-lit room or when the RGB turns on it's easy to see. There also seems to be no way to fix this without dismantling the watercooling loop as it's internal and there seems to be no way to partially open up the GPU block. We've added close-ups of these two issues below.

In summary, Cyberpower has chosen some really top-end hardware to showcase the best of what 2021 has to offer the PC enthusiast. More care in terms of fit and finish, plus a quieter noise profile, would elevate this rig from average to potentially very good.
